Infinitea, Cunnigham Road (Bangalore)

Infinitea is has a long list of various exotic teas and coffee.
The blue curaco tastes like blue curaco and not like a Squash.

You have option to order in a mug or in a glass and the Mugs are real huge.
This must be of special intrest for the coffe/tea addicts. The crowd is not teeny boppers or wanna bes or college people. But most of the crowd is sophistacted and intellect types.

The decor is Latin and has two floors. The upper floor is like balcony (non-smoking zone) overlooking the lower floor and entrance.

Prices are nominal cosidering the quantity and quality.
The service is quick, efficient and professional.

Infinitea sounds like a cut above the rest - the malls, branded stuff, branded fast food etc. dont't leave much to the imagination. How does a Latin decor look like? I have'nt been to one.

Going back to Mc Donald, just wondering if you have seen the film "Supersize Me".....

Infinitea is defenietly better thn the rest of branded cafes.

Food in local outlets are much healthier plus patronising them supports the local economy. Why are the Americans telling us what to eat and strange, we listen too...

I disagree when you say that food in local outlets can be much healthier... I don't think there is anything healthy about an aloo tikki or samosa or gol gappa (esp if the quality of the water is questionable).
Other than that these are yummy food items and no burger/pizza etc can compete with 'em. So I don't think these food items are in any danger of being wiped out.

Funny you talk about local food outlets supporting local economy. I think local economy is developed my by the presence of branded places (like Haldiram,McD,Nirulas) which employ many more people than your local sweet/food shop.
Furthermore I don't think in India we have a concept of be local buy local like say here in UK where people have started avoiding going to supermarkets and use local shops to support them.
In India does a posh / middle class colony have a local economy? Most of the people working in the stores would 99.99% not be living there since having your kids working in a shop etc is still taboo in north India.
So the colony shops would still end up employing people from the nearest slum cluster or poor peoples colony.

Probably local outlet/local economy concept comes more when we are talking about smaller places say where if people stop halting at a road side eating joint the person making those nice paranthas or that sexy dal makhani will have no business and thus no reason to continue running the place.

In a place like Delhi the owner of the shop will just open up whatever is trendy whether a bar/pub or an eating place or McD!

"Frankly, what I precisely think is that this generation has absolutely lost it!!"

And why is that? (Even though I like the thought of 'having lost it')
